Firefox

This page contains information on my Firefox setup, configuration, and plugins.

• Firefox Web Browser: My favourite web browser - (you may want the one with British English). There are also a number of Firefox add-ons that I highly recommend:
  • Adblock Plus - a great ad blocker. There is a page on configuration settings for Adblock plus here. In order to get the best from Adblock Plus be sure to subscribe to a good filter list.
  • Language specific dictionaries
  • Download Statusbar - keeps track of your downloads in the statusbar
  • Remember the Milk for Gmail - task management from RTM that integrates with Gmail
  • PicLens - a 3D photo browser for Firefox
  • Foxmarks - a great bookmark synchroniser
  • Web Developer - a web developer plugin, great for building and reverse-engineering web pages.
  • Twitterfox - a twitter client for Firefox
  • StumbleUpon - a stumbleupon client for Firefox

In order to have Firefox search for text as you type follow these instructions

1. Click Firefox→Preferences
2. Open the Advanced tab
3. Check the box for “Search for text when i start typing”

This will allow you search for text without going using the usual find dialog box
