====== Public Documentation ====== This page has some documentation relating to setting up and using software, most of which is used on this website, which is hosted on Webfaction. This page is under development, and I will be adding to it over the coming weeks and months. //Caveat Emptor - the information on this page should be taken with a grain of salt. I make no guarantees that it is 100% accurate and will take no responsibility if code listed here causes problems for you.// ===== LaTeX Documentation ===== * LaTeX FAQ ===== Apple OSX Documents ===== * Recommended Apple Software: This is a list of the software I use on my Macs * How to verify the RSA key fingerprint of your Mac * How to set up RXTX on your Mac * Setting up Apache/PHP on OSX * Backing up Policies for OSX/Linux * Setting up Parallax Stamp software on Mac OSX ===== Webfaction Documents ===== * Information about Webfaction * Setting up Subversion on a Webfaction Account ==== Dokuwiki ==== I found the best way to install dokuwiki on webfaction was to use a static application and install dokuwiki directly there using the dokuwiki installation instructions. When upgrading I installed dokuwiki freshly and carefully migrated my data files (//meta//, //pages//, //attic//) as well as ensuring that //.htaccess// in the root directory and //acl.auth.php// and //users.auth.php// in the //conf// directory were updated to reflect the old install's settings. ==== Wordpress ==== I found the best way to install Wordpress on webfaction was to use a static application and install wordpress directly there using subversion (instructions for installing Wordpress with subversion here. (For upgrading this should also work but I haven't tried it yet) ===== Blogging/Wiki Documents ===== * Wordpress Information for Gentoo ===== SRG Documents ===== * There are links to important Systems Research Documents here ===== Misc Linux Documents ===== * Information on Recovering From a Hard Drive Failure * Gentoo Information * Perl Information * Information about the Linksys Wireless G router * Information about Home Networking * Information about MySQL * Information about Adblock Plus * MySQL to Oracle Information * Using Sieve to Redirect copies of incoming email to Gmail ===== Miscellaneous ===== * Octave Random Information This page just has some notes on learning Octave. * Connecting to remote Oracle Databases from Ubuntu and setting up cx_Oracle on Ubuntu
